Authentic Artisan Tortillas
Experience the true taste of Mexico.
Experience the true taste of Mexico.
In the winter of 1910, the people of Mexico rose in arms to end the three-decade dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. The nation was divided—where the wealthy elite thrived, while the poor and peasant classes lived under harsh oppression. Led by Pancho Villa in the north and Emiliano Zapata in the south, the revolutionaries fought under the banners of "La tierra pertenece a quien la trabaja" and "Tierra y Libertad"—"The land belongs to those who work it" and "Land and Freedom."
The fiercest battles of the revolution took place in northern Mexico, especially in Chihuahua, a key battleground in the fight for justice and land reform. Among these revolutionaries were the Soldaderas—women who played a vital role in the struggle. Some took up arms alongside men, while others nursed the wounded, prepared food, and sustained the troops, often making tortillas to feed the armies. Their courage and sacrifice shaped the outcome of the revolution and cemented their place in history as symbols of resilience, bravery, and the unyielding fight for freedom.
The revolution ended in 1920, granting land to the people—land that allowed them to cultivate, prosper, and reclaim their independence. These grants have been passed down through generations, and today, my family in Chihuahua continues to work the same soil.
La Soldadera is more than history; she is a legacy of strength, a tribute to the women who fought for our land, our future, and our God given right for the pursuit of happiness.
At La Soldadera Tortillería, we honor tradition with the finest ingredients to create tortillas that are rich in flavor and authenticity. We use high-quality lard from pasture-raised pigs for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, organic flour for purity and freshness, and Celtic sea salt—one of the best salts in the world—to enhance every bite. Every tortilla reflects our commitment to quality, heritage, and the bold spirit of Las Soldaderas
Our philosophy is simple—honor tradition, nurture family, and create food the way God intended. Tortillas are more than just food; they are a connection to our roots, a symbol of resilience, and a staple at the heart of every family gathering. We are committed to preserving the time-honored methods of tortilla-making, using only the finest ingredients to ensure every bite reflects authenticity and quality. With every tortilla we make, we celebrate the spirit of our ancestors, the strength of Las Soldaderas, and the enduring bond of family and tradition.
Our 6-inch flour tortillas are perfect for soft tacos, sizzling fajitas, or the simple tradition of rolling them with melted butter. Made with the finest ingredients, they are soft, flavorful, and crafted to bring authentic taste to every bite.

My love for my Mexican heritage has always been at the core of who I am. Family, food, and faith have shaped my outlook on life and the future I want for my family. Over time, I realized food is at the heart of it all.
Though I pursued other careers and am grateful for the opportunities and education I’ve had, my true passion has always been wholesome food and my roots. I’m fortunate to have a husband who not only supports my dreams but shares my belief in preserving tradition. His encouragement, along with my daughter’s admiration, inspires me every day. Seeing her watch me chase my dreams and knowing she will grow up connected to our roots fills me with pride.
Tortillas were always at the center of our table growing up—a staple at every meal and part of my fondest memories. Their rich flavor, versatility, and handmade tradition hold deep meaning for me. Now, as I build my own home, I am determined to preserve these skills that are fading from our culture. Mastering the art of tortilla-making is my way of keeping these traditions alive—for my family.
